Scheduled featured speakerfor our August 2007 meeting is travel accessiblity expert Bridget Peirson of Peirson Travel Service (http://www.peirsontravel.com) . She will speak about and lead a discussion onaccessible travel for families living with Parkinson's.
Her company, Peirson Travel, is a member of SATH (Society for Accessible Travel & Hospitality), the major nonprofit organization working with travel industry professionals and consumers "to raise awareness of the needs of travelers with disabilities, remove physical and attitudinal barriers and expand travel opportunities in the United States and abroad. "

Ms Byrd is not only a local elder care attorney but also a gifted public speaker, care partner (with her mother), and newspaper columnist who writes a weekly column about seniors issues for our local newpaper, the Bowie Blade.
If you have questions or
experiences surrounding some of today's disability or elder laws, or if you are a care partner or a senior living with Parkinson's, you

She will be talking to us at this meeting about speech and swallowing issues for people living with PD.
Ms Sommers holds Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) certification. LSVT is a voice treatment for adults and children with neurological disorders, with a specialty in Parkinson's.
Voice and swallowing difficulties are well-known aspects of PD, so you want you want want to miss this meeting. Please join in!
